Terra shrugged. "The house is practically a monster. Every room is large. Yours is one of the biggest. Ms. Majora likes showering her...uh, guests?...with nice things."

Jordan nodded slowly, his brows pinched close. "Does she treat all of her slaves like this? It just seems so..." he trailed off but the point was made either way. Useless... unneccessary... wasteful...

"Yes. We all have nice places to stay. The 'mayor' before her owned this house, and out of respect, she kept it the way it is." Terra explained. "I mean, she's done some interior work, but the basic layout is the same." She walked over to the bed and straightened the sheets a little. "Apparently he was a large man, so all the rooms had to be large." She giggled at the thought. How big could a man be. "Honestly, Ms. Majora hates large spaces. It's why she holds so many events. She like to fill the house."

Jordan nodded. "I was told she was a horrible person. Those people were wrong. No one like that would give a slave a room like this. Nor would she hold their respect and loyalty." He continued in a quiet voice, almost to himself. "Misjudged by all."

"She can have her moments, I guess." Terra stood up. "The rumors had to have come from somewhere, right? Well, she has a terrible temper to those who betray her trust and loyalty. And..." She trailed off.

He stopped examining the room and cut his eyes to Terra. "And...?" he asked.

"Well," Terra hesitated. Although Jordan was Edrea's slave, he had only been there for less than a day. "Well, there are some things about her that you will eventually find out." She walked over to Jordan and put her hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry, you'll understand... You should wash up. Dinner will be ready soon. Someone will come and get you." Terra smiled sympathetically before walking out of the room, closing the door behind her.

Jordan wondered monentarily what Terra was talking about but quickly dismissed it as something Edrea would tell him about if it was important. He started a shower, loving the bathroom the instant he walked into it. Soon, he was clean, mostly dry and dressed. Only the tips of his hair was slightly damp and he ran his hands through it to try and speed up the process.

After leaving Jordan's room, Terra didn't have to wander too far to the kitchen. Every room that they would occupy would be on that floor, including the kitchen and dining room. The top floor was their main living area.
She waved to the two cooks as she entered. They conversed about what was being served and how long it would take. The conversation turned to Edrea's new slave quicker that Terra expected.
"Yeah, he's very confused about her..." She replied to one of their many questions. She understood Jordan's feelings about her. The moment she met Edrea, she never expected to feel respect for her, let alone work for her willingly.
After answering a few more questions about his appearance and reactions, she left to go retrieve Jordan. She knocked a few times on his door loudly.

Jordan walked over to the door and opened it when he heard the knocks. He smiled at Terra when he saw her. "Dinnertime?" he asked.

"Just about." Terra gestured to follow. "I hope you enjoy it. It's not especially extravagant when it's just the residents." She smiled. "We have to eat in one of the giant dining halls at a large table, so it's kind of ridiculous."

"I'm sure it'll be amazing," Jordan told her, smiling slightly. He was excited to see the dining room-- everything here was so gorgeous he couldn't help but want to see it all. Quickly his mind turner to the food. It had been a long time since he was out of that cage and sitting at a real table was a treat.

They arrived in the dining hall. To say it was enormus would be an understatement. It was all golds and browns and the light from the exquisite chandelier bounced off of everything metallic (and trust me, lots of things were metallic) and it gave the room a sparkling, warm feeling.
Terra led Jordan to the table, but came to an abrupt stop. The entire table was full of food. She looked at the head of the table, where Edrea was standing, silent and serious. She brought Jordan to her mistress and bowed politely.
"If you don't mind me asking, what's with all the food?"
Edrea's mouth twitched into a smile. "I didn't know what the new member of our household liked. So I rushed them to make everything we had."
Terra's mouth dropped. It was she who did the grocery shopping. "Oh. Oh, well. Tha-that's great." She put a smile on her face.
"Something wrong?" Edrea's smile faded.
"No, no." Terra smiled again and pulled out the chair Edrea was standing next to. Edrea sat down smoothly as Terra pushed the seat under her. Then she went to do the same for Jordan. "I hope you enjoy yourself," she said.

Jordan caught Terra's astonishment and wisely decided not to comment. He gave her a quick and apologetic nod while Edrea was settling into her chair. "Thank you," he said in response to her comment.
