Continuing to eat, Calla answered him. "Dunno. I don't remember anything before two months ago when I was returned to the Black Market. I was pretty beat up so the woman who tended to me- also a slave- wasn't too surprised that I had amnesia." She shrugged her shoulders once, still not looking at Jason. It wasn't out of shame or anything like that. If she had seen any pity in his eyes, she was positive she would blow her top and three hours seemed like too soon to lose her temper with the man who owned her.

"That's lucky, then, isn't it?" Jason asked. "If you were hurt so bad, maybe it's good you don't remember." He took a few bites before continuing, "Beaing beaten, especially by someone you trust, is not something you want to remember."

Calla glanced up at his last remark. "And you would know this from experience?" She didn't mean to pry and wasn't asking to be mean. It just wasn't in her nature to ever hold anything back. If she had a question, she asked it. Simple as that.

"Yep." Jason said, taking another bite of his food. "My mother died when I was young, and when my fag - sorry, father took in his boyfriend, he turned a blind eye when 'Uncle' beat the shit out of me." He took a few more finishing bites of his food. He looked up and smiled. "But I'm over it." The last sentence was dripping with bitter sarcasm.
He got up to rinse his plate off in the sink. When he finished, he turned his back to the counter and leaned against it, crossing his arms.
"Sorry, not good dinner conversation. I don't normally have people over."

Calla shrugged. She hadn't gotten much further than Jason's use of the f word. She, herself, was bi and she wondered if that was going to be a problem or if he only said that because his father was obviously a terrible person. As usual, she had no filter and the question made its way out into the room. "Do you hate gay people, lesbians... bisexuals?"

"I only have a problem with you if you watch your lover beat your son until he is unconcious." Jason's face was serious. "No problem with who you're attracted to." He tried to relax. "Why? You're a lesbian?"

"bi," Calla admitted quietly. "I'm sorry you had to go throught that as a kid. No one should have to live through that. Parents are supposed to be the ones you can trust... the ones that pick you up when life beats you down." She stood and walked slowly over to stand in front of him. "But you are probably stronger for it... a better person. If nothing else, hold on to that."

"I'm not, really. I went to town to buy a person to cuddle with at night. Like that's a normal thing to do." Jason looked away to hide his face, which was being unusually revealing. When he composed himself, he turned back to her and asked, "So, you're bisexual?"

"Cuddling?" Calla laughed. "Well if you don't mind a prickly pear like me, then I'm game," her voice was teasing but her eyes told a different story. "And yep, I'm indiscriminate between dudes and chicks."

Jason shifted uncomfortably, not knowing what to say. He cleared his throat. "So... are you done yet?" He gestured toward her plate.
He wanted to ask more about her, but how could he? She couldn't remember anything. He couldn't ask about her life or experiences.
"Do you ever want to know what happened to you?" He blurted.

Calla nodded at her plate. "Yeah it was good. Thank you." She grabbed the plate as though to clean up but didn't make a move towards the sink. After a moment, she shook her head. "I don't think I do want to know. Honestly, if I can't remember any of it, that probably means none of it was worth remembering."

Jason took the plate from Calla. "That's one way to look at it, I guess." He began washing the few dishes he used. "While I'm washing these, feel free to look around."

Calla turned to look at the rest of the house. It wasn't very big and it was a little dusty but she loved it. The house was cozy and comfortable and dust was easily cleaned. Se plopped down on the couch, enjoying the cushy feel- nothing like the metal cage she was used to. She fell over sideways into the pillows and smiled to herself. "I hope I remember this..." she whispered to herself.
OOC: I realize it kind of sounds like she is questioning if she will remember today but that's not the case. She is just thinking about how happy she is.
