The properties of reinforced concrete can be affected by various external agents , such as increasing environmental pollution, gas and water infiltration, as well as contact with groundwater or soils with high levels of sulfates. In these cases, concrete repair has to be carried out . Concrete restoration can be done in different ways, such as structural bonding to reinforce an existing concrete structure. Guys Requirements regarding the identification and performance, including durability and safety, of products and systems used as structural adhesion for the reinforcement of an existing concrete structure.
Are regulated by EN 1504-4 , which includes three types of Adhesion systems depending on the elements to which they are going to be joined: 1. The adhesion of steel plates or USA Email List any other material for the purpose of reinforcement 2. The adhesion of hardened concrete on hardened concrete, precast concrete 3. The adhesion of fresh concrete on hardened concrete Application Structural adhesives are two-component, pre-dosed products to which no type of external agent should be added —not even water or solvents—for mixing, except as specified by the manufacturer.
To obtain the final product, component A will be mixed with component B until a homogeneous mass is obtained manually or using an electric mixer at low revolutions (< 500 rpm). It is not recommended to make partial mixtures of the product. Once the two components are mixed, a chemical reaction occurs between them and the shelf life of the product begins (consult the technical data sheet for each one, as it may vary depending on the manufacturer). It is important that, once the indicated time has passed, it is not used.
